DefMinTech, Defence and Mining Technologies, a subsidiary of IMPD, Integrated Modelling and Product Development, has designed a Gunner Protection Kit (GPK) that is modular, utilise common technology blocks and Commercial / Military off the Shelve components and is logistically supportable throughout the range of products with interchangeable components.:

History

DefMinTech, Defence and Mining Technologies, a subsidiary of IMPD, Integrated Modelling and Product Development, has it's roots within the Defence community of South Africa.  It's primary members, Marchand Mostert and Dave Engels, stems from a strong project and defence equipment development and acquisition environment within the Air and Land domains within the South African National Defence Force.

Dave Engels primarily operated within the Landward Sciences divisions of companies and was instrumental in the explosives and vehicles environments.  Marchand Mostert operated within the areas of operations of the South African Army and was part of the Air Defence Forces grouped under the Air Defence Artillery Formation.  He then moved to Armscor where he was the Project Officer for major air defence programmes in the sensing environment, Command and Control.  He had under his control various industries including Reutech Radar Systems, Denel Land Systems, Denel Aero Systems, Global Command and Control Technologies.
